Salesloft vs Salesforce Sales Cloud

Salesloft vs Salesforce is an add-on decision, not a CRM swap: when a dedicated engagement platform earns its cost on top of Salesforce's native sales features.

Verdict

Salesloft is not a Salesforce replacement; add it when Salesforce's built-in engagement features cannot run your outbound cadences at scale. Salesforce is the CRM and system of record. Salesloft is a sales engagement platform that runs sequences, calls, and rep workflow, and syncs activity back to the CRM. Since its December 2025 merger with Clari, Salesloft has also sold Clari Forecast, and it has operated as one Salesloft brand since September 2, 2026.

Questions to settle before choosing

Which cadence steps, call workflows, and reports can Salesforce's native engagement features cover in your edition?

How many reps run structured outbound every day, and would they work from Salesloft or from Salesforce?

Would Salesloft's bundle with Clari Forecast replace forecasting you would otherwise buy for Salesforce?

What does your security team require for connected apps after the 2025 Drift breach?

Where Salesloft wins

Salesloft fits SDR and AE teams that run defined cadences across email, calls, and other steps, with managers who coach from activity and call data. Reviewers on Reddit and G2 praise the cadence builder and templates.

It organizes the rep's day. Its Rhythm engine prioritizes what a rep works next, so reps can work a queue without jumping between CRM screens.

Where Salesloft wins: rep productivity on high-volume outbound and manager coaching from activity and calls. For teams running hundreds of sequence steps a day, a dedicated workspace often gets more consistent use than CRM screens.

Pricing model: Salesloft does not publish prices. Ask for per-seat pricing for each package and add-on shown in the demo, since conversation and forecasting features often sit in higher packages (checked September 2026).

Who it fits best: outbound-heavy teams on Salesforce with RevOps capacity to maintain sequences and templates.

Where Salesforce Sales Cloud wins

Salesforce fits as the system of record for accounts, opportunities, forecasts, and reporting. Salesloft and every other engagement tool depend on it for ownership and pipeline data.

Native features may be enough for lighter outbound. Salesforce's Starter Suite lists built-in sales flows and lead routing, and its engagement and conversation features vary by edition, so check what yours includes before adding a vendor.

Where Salesforce wins: one system, one security model, and no second sync to maintain. For teams with modest outbound volume, avoiding another platform often outweighs deeper cadence features.

Pricing: Salesforce lists Starter Suite at $25, Pro Suite at $100, Core at $195, Advanced at $395, and Max at $550 per user per month billed annually (checked September 2026 on salesforce.com).

Who it fits best: teams whose outbound volume is modest, or whose reps already live in Salesforce all day.

Watch-outs

Pricing side by side: you pay for both, not one or the other. Add a Salesloft quote per seat to your Salesforce edition cost, then compare with running outbound on Salesforce's native features alone.

Where they overlap: task queues, email templates, call logging, and sequences exist on both sides depending on edition. List the cadence steps you run today and check each against your Salesforce edition before pricing Salesloft.

Security review: in August 2025 attackers used stolen Drift OAuth tokens to export data from hundreds of Salesforce orgs. Salesforce disabled Salesloft integrations, later re-enabling all but Drift. Review connected-app scopes and token rotation before connecting any engagement tool.

Salesloft now owns two engagement products, Salesloft and Groove. Ask which gets long-term investment if you are comparing both.

Test activity sync. Check which activity types write back to Salesforce, how duplicates and failed syncs are handled, and whether call logging works with your phone setup; one reviewer called the phone piece a little wonky.

Migration note: if you move cadences off Salesforce's native tools, rebuild your two highest-volume sequences first and keep reporting in Salesforce so managers do not lose history.
