Salesforce Maps pricing, features and alternatives

Salesforce

MapAnything was a location intelligence app built on the Salesforce platform: account maps, route optimization, and territory views for field sales and service teams. Salesforce announced a deal to acquire it on April 17, 2019, and its newsroom reported the acquisition closed in May 2019. The product was then renamed Salesforce Maps.

So if you are searching for MapAnything today, what you can buy is Salesforce Maps. There is no separate MapAnything product or pricing. Some review sites still file it under the old name; Capterra's listing, for example, still sits at a MapAnything URL.

Salesforce Maps pricing

Unlike many Salesforce add-ons, Maps has list prices. Per Salesforce's Maps pricing page, checked September 2026, Salesforce Maps is $75 per user per month and Salesforce Maps: Advanced is $125 per user per month, both billed annually. Some third-party articles still quote $150 for Advanced, so confirm the figure on your quote.

The same page says there is no free trial, contracts run 12 months, and monthly billing is not offered. You also pay for the underlying Sales Cloud or Service Cloud seats, so the true per-rep cost is the CRM seat plus the Maps seat.

Territory Planning is sold as a separate add-on, and we could not find a published price for it. Ask how it is licensed (per planner or per org), and whether the Sales Planning edition, which Salesforce lists at $75 per user per month, covers the same need for your team.

Salesforce Maps: $75 per user per month(Billed annually; map visualization, data-driven prioritization, automated routes and schedules)
Salesforce Maps: Advanced: $125 per user per month(Billed annually; adds thematic maps and advanced routing logic over longer time horizons)
Territory Planning add-on: Custom quote(Not published; ask Salesforce how it is licensed and bundled)

Pricing checked against the source named above. Plans change often, so confirm on the vendor's site before procurement.

Verdict

Because it runs inside Salesforce, Maps works on the same account, lead, and opportunity records reps already use. Filters, routes, and check-ins use CRM data directly instead of a nightly export to a separate mapping app.

Salesforce Maps is one of 14 tools we cover in Territory Management Software.

Best for

It fits Salesforce customers with field reps or field service staff who plan visits by geography, and ops teams who want to see coverage and design territories on a map using live CRM data.

What to watch for

G2 review summaries for Salesforce Maps mention a steep learning curve for setup and training, complex configuration with large data sets, and a price that smaller teams find hard to justify. Also note that Salesforce has listed Maps Live Tracking Mobile for retirement on August 31, 2026, per a Salesforce retirement notice cited by TripLog.

Features

Map-based views of CRM records

Reps and managers plot accounts, leads, and opportunities on a map and filter them by CRM fields. Test this with your own data: plot a region with a few thousand accounts and check load time and how filters behave on mobile.

Routes and schedules

The base edition builds routes and schedules for daily visits. According to Salesforce's edition comparison, Maps Advanced adds routing with advanced business logic and routing over longer time horizons, useful for multi-day or multi-week visit plans. If your reps plan day by day, the base edition may be enough.

Thematic maps for coverage analysis

Thematic maps, in the Advanced edition, shade areas by a metric such as revenue or account count. Sales ops teams use them to spot gaps and overloaded areas before redrawing territories.

Territory planning and the ETM connection

The Territory Planning add-on lets planners balance accounts across territories, compare what-if scenarios, and publish the result into Salesforce Enterprise Territory Management, as described in a Salesforce Ben walkthrough. That makes ETM the system that enforces access and forecasts, with Maps as the design surface.

Who it fits

Good fit if

✓Your CRM is Salesforce and you want mapping on the same records reps already update.
✓Reps or technicians make several in-person visits a day and plan routes by hand today.
✓Sales ops needs to see coverage by geography before redrawing territories.
✓You plan to run Enterprise Territory Management and want a visual way to design models.

Probably not if

✗You do not use Salesforce; the product depends on it.
✗Your team sells remotely and territory is defined by segment, not geography.
✗A small team only needs simple route planning and wants a cheaper, lighter app.
✗You relied on Live Tracking Mobile for rep location updates.

Pilot one region with the base edition first, and move to Advanced only if routing constraints or thematic analysis prove necessary.

Pros and cons

Strengths

Native to Salesforce data

Maps reads and writes Salesforce records, so there is no separate sync to maintain.

Published pricing

Both editions have list prices, which makes budgeting easier than quote-only tools.

Design feeds execution

Territory Planning can publish balanced territories into Enterprise Territory Management.

Limitations

Setup effort

Review summaries point to a steep learning curve and complex configuration on large data sets.

Stacked cost

You pay for Maps on top of Salesforce seats, with annual contracts only and no trial.

Salesforce only

Teams on HubSpot, Dynamics 365, or other CRMs need a different tool.
