Zoho Territory Management pricing, features and alternatives
Zoho Territory Management is a capability inside Zoho CRM, not a separately sold app, and it is gated to the upper editions. Enterprise at $40 per user per month billed annually and Ultimate at $52 include it; Free, Starter, Standard, and Professional do not. So the decision is which edition you buy, not which feature.
The short answer
Buy Zoho Territory Management if coverage is defined by account attributes such as region, industry, or company size, some reps or specialists need access to accounts in several territories, and managers want forecasts and targets that roll up by territory rather than reporting line. You also have to justify Enterprise edition for every CRM user.
Skip it if you are on Standard or Professional and only a few managers would use territories, if overlay reps need their own territory on the same deal for credit, or if what you need is to model balance, capacity, and quota scenarios before a realignment.
Where Zoho Territory Management fits
It is a feature an admin switches on, not a license you buy. There is no separate SKU: inside Zoho CRM you build a tree of territories and sub-territories, attach criteria that assign accounts, contacts, and deals automatically, give each territory a manager, and run forecasts per territory.
Criteria-based assignment plus multiple territories per account is unusual at this price. Zoho's documentation says an account or contact can belong to up to 10 territories, so an overlay specialist and a regional rep can both see the same customer without hacks to the role hierarchy. Zoho's own decision guide pitches it at companies whose data sharing depends on account characteristics rather than on who owns the record, and at matrix sales teams where one rep covers several territories.
The tree does the filtering. Zoho's help center says a record must meet the parent territory's criteria before it can be assigned to a child, so the top of the tree acts as a filter for everything below it. Each territory has a manager who always has read and write access to it, while members get either Read Only or Read/Write/Delete and still need the matching profile permission for the module.
Assignment runs both ways. Territory rules place accounts, contacts, and deals when records are created or modified, and admins can run the rules against existing records from Setup, filtered by territory or custom view. Manually added territories can only be removed manually, while automatically assigned ones cannot be removed by hand.
The limits differ by module, and they shape your design. Accounts and contacts can carry up to 10 territories each, only one of a contact's territories comes automatically from its account, and a deal gets exactly one territory. Forecasts then sit on the same hierarchy, with managers setting targets for their territory's users, and Zoho notes a user can hold several forecast targets across territories, which the role-based model does not allow.
Zoho Territory Management pricing
There is no price for territory management on its own. You pay for the Zoho CRM edition that includes it, and it appears only in Enterprise and Ultimate. Per Zoho's CRM edition comparison page, checked September 2026, Enterprise costs $40 per user per month billed annually ($50 month to month) and Ultimate costs $52 per user per month billed annually ($65 month to month). Prices vary by region and currency, so confirm in your local Zoho store.
Editions that include territories
- Enterprise
- $40/user/month (annual); $50 monthly. Up to 150 territories. Per Zoho CRM edition comparison, September 2026
- Ultimate
- $52/user/month (annual); $65 monthly. Up to 250 territories. Per Zoho CRM edition comparison, September 2026
The jump that matters
The step from Professional to Enterprise is the real cost. Territory management is not available below Enterprise, so a team on Standard or Professional pays the upgrade across every user in the org, even if only managers need territories.
Choose Ultimate only if you need more than 150 territories or want Ultimate's other additions. Most SMB and mid-market territory trees stay well under the Enterprise cap once you count only the leaf territories reps are assigned to, plus their parents.
Ask your Zoho rep or partner about regional pricing, and about sandbox access on your edition, because the setup decision below cannot be reversed once you are in production.
What Zoho Territory Management gives up
Deals can belong to only one territory, which complicates overlay credit. Work out how overlays and partner-sourced deals will be credited before you switch it on, because the workaround tends to be a custom field nobody maintains.
The setup choice is one-way. Zoho's setup guide says you decide once whether territories mirror your role hierarchy or are built independently, and you cannot switch approaches later. Get that decision right in a sandbox before production.
The edition gate is absolute: no territories in Free, Starter, Standard, or Professional. The caps are real too, at up to 150 territories on Enterprise and 250 on Ultimate, per Zoho's comparison page.
It enforces coverage; it does not design it. If you need to model balance, capacity, and quota scenarios before a realignment, that work happens in a planning tool and the result lands in Zoho afterwards.
How Zoho Territory Management compares
Microsoft shops get a similar native hierarchy with Dynamics 365 territory management, at a higher per-seat price, and HubSpot gates territories to its upper Sales Hub tiers the same way Zoho does. When the job is designing balanced territories rather than enforcing them in the CRM, Xactly AlignStar models coverage and fairness before you push assignments into Zoho. Field teams that plan routes as well as coverage look at Badger Maps.
| Tool | Best for | Price | Where it breaks |
|---|---|---|---|
| Microsoft Dynamics 365 Territory Management | Microsoft-centric orgs wanting a native hierarchy | $65 to $150/user/month paid yearly, by Sales plan | Higher per-seat cost for broadly the same job |
| HubSpot Territories | Teams already on Sales Hub Professional or above | $90/seat/month annual on Professional; $150 on Enterprise | Another edition gate, at a higher price point |
| Salesforce Enterprise Territory Management | Complex territory models inside Sales Cloud | Included in Sales Cloud; Sales Planning add-on $75 per user per month billed annually | Needs admin skill, and planning is a paid add-on |
| Xactly AlignStar | Designing and balancing territories before assignment | Custom quote | Not a CRM access-control tool |
| Badger Maps | Field reps who need routing as well as coverage | $58 to $95/user/month | Does not control CRM record visibility |
What to test in a Zoho trial
Bring your territory definitions and a sample export to the Zoho demo or partner session, and ask to see these live rather than on slides.
- Build three levels of your real territory tree in a sandbox, load a few hundred accounts, and check that assignment, visibility, and forecasts all line up.
- Decide whether territories should mirror the role hierarchy or be built independently, knowing you cannot switch later.
- Change an account's address so it no longer meets the parent criteria, and watch what the rules do.
- Work out how you would credit an overlay rep when a deal can sit in only one territory.
- Check which reports and dashboards can be filtered by territory out of the box.
- Ask how territory forecasts interact with your existing role-based forecasts during the transition.
